Meating at Miskin’s: the 2nd Annual Hello Fall Dinner Party

one of our favorite activities is to play hostess. we enjoy putting on a dress and heels, concocting exotic hors d’oeuvres and making a nice, candlelit dinner for our friends.

usually, these evenings devolve into someone exposing their scrotum on the kitchen table or shooting bottle rockets off my rooftop but it’s nice to get together and pretend we’re refined adults, if only for an hour or two.

last year, i made lasagna and eggplant parm with homemade tomato sauce. i think i might make it again this year, because it’s easy and tastes good. i’m buying the cheap mozzarella this time, though, because last year i spent, like, $30 on the real kind.

i make the main dishes and everyone else brings appetizers and desserts and drinks and stuff. last year, my friends brought over enough food to last me through the week (which is great because i am always broke!). elizabeth even brought over a dish containing quail eggs, but i threw it out because quail eggs are scary and she forgot to cook them.

i am currently accepting suggestions for this year’s menu.
