Jesse L. Martin’s final episode of Law & Order airs in two weeks. The episode, titled “Burn Card,” isn’t just a bittersweet end to a legendary era of Dick Wolf’s nearly two-decade-old series—it’s also Meatloafing favorite Jeremy Sisto’s time to shine (i.e., excite us the way he did so often on Six Feet Under). JLM final episode spoilers here. (We’re holding out for the real thing.) [All Things Law & Order]
As I washed my jeans the other night, I wondered how often other people wash theirs. I go as long as possible until they no longer fit properly. With my current jeans that’s probably around five wears, but then I’ll wear them a few more times until they look unfashionably loose in the bottom and I feel frumpy and I’m forced to hit the ‘mat. So I texted a bunch of my denim-wearing good friends and here’s how they replied: (more…)

For the sixth year in a row, we were there, daring to dream. The 2007 New York City Marathon always inspires us. This year we felt a certain kinship to the French runners, as shown below. Vive la France!
The money shot: the fastest dudes. (Don’t be offended by the commentary, pls.)
“Diane, a strange dream to report: I dreamt I was eating a large, tasteless gumdrop. I awoke to realize I was aggressively munching on one of my Air-Pillow Silicone Ear Plugs. Hence the tastelessness. I suspect some unexpressed feeling of aggression is responsible.”
My Favorite Dale Cooper quote (Season 2, Episode something). Twin Peaks: The Definitive Gold Box Edition (The Complete Series) arrives in stores today! Pilot, Seasons 1 & 2, tons of extras. Wheee! I pre-ordered mine from Amazon, but it’s not shipping until November 5th. wtf. Anyhoo. These DVDs will be my bff this winter.
This Saturday, from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m., the Brooklyn Academy of Music is hosting an event called TAKEOVERBAM. The festivities will include Music, Movies, and Art plus $3 Magic Hat.
Most importantly, one of the theaters will be dedicated to a Lindsay Lohan Mid-Career Retrospective tracing her development from 1998’s The Parent Trap to 2007’s I Know Who Killed Me. Unfortunately, Herbie Fully Loaded and A Prairie Home Companion will not be screened but the inclusion of Mark Waters’ oft overlooked classic Freaky Friday ought to be enough to satisfy even the most rabid of Lohan aficionados.
Tickets are $15 in advance or $20 at the door. For more on the event visit www.takeoverbam.org.
Thanks. Well anyway, I do enjoy a traditional ketchupy, oniony meatloaf—with mashed potatoes, obviously—once every couple years, but here at Meatloafing we actually prefer our ground beef in burger form. Strangely enough, tonight we dined on cheeseburgers (bloody w/ Gruyère) and onion rings at Dumont Burger in Williamsburg. Sorry, meatloaf. I hope we can still be friends.
