Meatloafing Exclusive! Mom on Bike

Sunday, June 7th, 2009

Our good friend Mom bought a motorcycle recently. In her own words:

Hi there,

Wanted to let you know I took the plunge (grandma doesn’t know yet and am not sure when I will tell her).  I bought a 2003 Honda Rebel 250 motorcycle this week!  I still can’t believe I did it, but Millie Salensky’s has been for sale since last year.  It is the bike I borrowed to practice on when I took my motorcycle safety course. … Guess the worse [sic] that can happen is if I don’t like it, I can sell it. …  My hope is to get confident enough that I can ride it to the clubs and save on gas.  You would love it.  …

We’ll be at the lake for the weekend.  Hope the weather stays nice.  Supposed to be about 70 and sunny.  Liisa and the kids will be up tomorrow afternoon.  We are looking to have fun.

Hope to see you soon.

Love you,

mom

Yes. We’ll be getting food somewhere in Park Slope. Suggest a place!

I don’t know yet—lots of layers since it’s supposed to be chilly, and nothing too loose/bulky (to optimize speed and performance).

Do you think I’ll make new friends at MOI?
Yes! Just smile and be yourself.

It’s an all-new Meatloafing

Monday, October 27th, 2008

No, it’s not at all. I’m sorry. But don’t worry—we’ve listened to your feedback, and we know you want more Meatloafing. We’ve read the desperate emails and IMs (and one Facebook wall post) from real readers who crave video reports from Bryant Park (the rink is back—Meatloafing on Ice Deux, anyone?), our cheerful foodtalk, and just a larger digital presence overall. Today an excited fan even proposed the idea of my.meatloafing.com! Anyway, thanks to everyone who reads this site. As soon as we work out some technical issues (as you can see, the header image is busted, and there’s some other stuff that’s not as noticeable), we’ll be back.

If there’s anything you’d like Meatloafing to write about in the future, please mention it in the comments. Thank you!

lunchboxrShowing great promise for all of humanity, Lunchboxr.com has finally launched. Currently Midtown-only, it will soon expand to other New York City neighborhoods. The site will feature an option to input your location. Other plans include implementing weather forecasts to further customize your lunch choice—if it’s raining, you’ll know to order delivery (and from where), or Lunchboxr will suggest restaurants that are close by. Check it out!
